About Me
Hi everyone👏, and a big welcome to the teaching staff and classmates from the subject Going places — Travelling Smarter. It would really be a big gain to learn how to travelling smarter through blogs!
I was born in Shanghai, China and travelled to Melbourne, Australia for university study. You can call me Neo. Below is a photo of me travelling to Sydney, and it's my first trip in Australia.
Now I came back to Shanghai because of the COVID-19, a pandemic that makes travelling harder and with higher risks.
I am a BIG fan of travel, most of the time I travel in my hometown, China. My biggest motivation to travel is to experience new life. I am always curious about different things and new things. Travelling enables me to learn about new lifestyles and cultures.
I want to look at the world from as many perspectives as possible. And finally, find my own unique perspective. As said from the Pico Iyer reading: we travel, initially, to lose ourselves; and we travel, next, to find ourselves. However, travelling can be in multiple terms. Currently, in my blogs, we can "travel" to Osaka in a virtual way.
My country specialization is Osaka in Japan. I first got to know this city because of an anime character, Hattori Heiji, from Detective Conan.
He impressed me deeply with his pride as an Osaka citizen and his thick Osakan accent. His enthusiasm and kindness really made me associate Osaka with his characteristics.
Also, I am extremely keen on the scenery and local customs in Osaka reflected through the anime. Thus, I chose Osaka as my country specialization.
As a fan of Detective Conan and some other Japanese anime, the angle of my blog would be——travelling in Osaka from the perspective of the anime, especially Detective Conan. In my blog, I would make the comparison between the anime perspective and the traveller's perspective, the scene depicted in the anime and the scene in "reality", etc.
Hope we all have great fun through reading each other's blogs and get to know a BIGGER world and a more different world!
